How To Hold On To Positivity While You “Wait” For Your Moment

There’s nothing to be ashamed of if you find yourself constantly obsessed with when “your moment” will get here. I’d be more surprised if you weren’t.

The story goes that creatives, business leaders, or the world’s next greatest minds, have Moment A (an “aha” moment), then they pay their dues, and eventually they arrive at Moment B (“your” moment). Moment B is the magical day when your bank account is overflowing, your creativity is unblocked, and your reputation precedes you.

It’s a creative’s Disney prince arriving to save them. And while the moment may never manifest with a frog or a prince, shouldn’t it be okay to daydream about it anyway?

It doesn’t harm you to imagine “your moment” and what it will look like, feel like, or sound like. It’s only a detriment to you if you believe that it’s the only moment that matters.

Along the way I made an agreement with myself for the sake of my creativity:

  • The moment I want isn’t a dead end, it’s Super Mario World flag that helps save my spot in the game so I can fight new, different battles
  • If I’m lucky, I’ll have more than one moment
